BEDFORD, NY — August 13 — Members of the emergency services community have another reason to celebrate as Liz Hallock has successfully finished the New York State EMT-Basic course.

Hallock completed the training as part of her preparation to work with the EMS operations of the Bedford Fire Department, which is the first responding department in the Bedford area.

The department is located at 550 Old Post Road in Bedford, New York, and offers both fire protection and ambulance services within its service area.

EMT courses typically require between 150 and 180 hours of training.

The state explains that EMT-Basic education equips providers with skills in areas such as CPR, administering oxygen, patient assessment, handling medical emergencies, and preparing patients for transport.

Hallock’s next step will involve supervised field experience and ride-alongs on Bedford ambulances, giving her the opportunity to apply and develop the knowledge and skills she gained during the course.
