TRIBES HILL, NY — August 21, 2026 — Don Kruger, a veteran member of the Tribes Hill Fire Department, is being congratulated on reaching 46 years of service.

Kruger was acknowledged by the department as another illustration of the sustained dedication that maintains volunteer fire departments' relationships to the communities they serve.

Kruger has served Tribes Hill and the neighboring Montgomery County region for forty-six years. For the firemen who follow them, those who stay active for that long offer continuity, institutional knowledge, and experience. The Tribes Hill Fire Department was established in 1914 and continues to operate as a volunteer fire organization. Montgomery County lists the department at 280 Mohawk Drive in Tribes Hill and identifies Glenn Newkirk as chief.
