PERTH, NY — August 17, 2026 — A hazardous-condition complaint involving a tree over Voorhees Road in the Town of Perth prompted the Perth Volunteer Fire Company to respond on Monday nite.

Around 5:25 p.m., the call was received. After the falling tree blocked the road and became caught in power cables, firefighters arrived.

While workers cleared the road and removed the tree, Voorhees Road was briefly blocked.

There was a power outage in the vicinity as a result of the falling tree striking power wires and damaging a utility pole. In order to resolve the utility danger and damaged electrical infrastructure, National Grid was dispatched to the incident.
