Bethany Beach (Sussex County, Delaware) Fire Department. The Bethany Beach Fire Department was formed in 1948 when Howard Bramhall was acting Chariman of the organizational meeting that approved the forming of the Fire Company and conducted the meeting until Officers were elected. Since then the department has expanded tremendously. The department consists of a combination of volunteer and career members. The fire house has been expanded multiple times and has become the large fire house they operate mainly out of today. The department uniquely runs 3 Quints due to the effectiveness they have discovered it presents. The department covers the City of Bethany Beach, South Bethany, and Fenwick Island. The department has 2 fire stations. Headquarters (Station 70-1) is located at 215 Hollywood Street. The substation (Station 70-2) is located at 1 West Bayard Street, in Fenwick Island.

Quint 70-4, a 2002 Pierce Dash 2000/500/30F/75' rear-mount quint
Quit 70-5, a 2012 Pierce Arrow XT 2000/500/75' rear-mount quint
Tower 70-7, a 2012 Pierce Arrow XT 2000/250/100' rear-mount platform which is also the departments rescue due to it having a large amount of rescue capabilities

High Water 70-9, an AM General 6x6
Van 70-10, a 1998 Ford E-Series
Car 70-12, a 2002 Ford Excursion 4x4
