At approximately 1000 hours, the Claymont Fire Company, along with Elsmere Fire Company, Tower 16, Brandywine Hundred Fire Company Engine & Tower 11, Talleyville Fire Company Engine 25, Upper Chichester, Pennsylvania, Engine 10, Ashton Township, Pennsylvania, Rescue 17, were dispatched to 1912 Marsh Road for a reported structure fire. As units were responding, FireBoard stated there was plastic burning in the main lobby. Engine 13 arrived, assumed the first due engine assignment, laid in from the hydrant, and stated they had a 3-story retirement home with nothing showing. Tower 13 arrived and assumed the first due special assignment. Tower 13 made entry into the building and found a small fire that was out on arrival, with no need for the line to be stretched and no ventilation. Command held it to 1&1 with Station 13 units and canceled the box. Claymont operated for just under a half hour before being placed back into service.
