Lafayette, N.J. — July 25 — Using a training exercise known as "Jaws of Life Jenga," members of the Lafayette Township Volunteer Fire Department carried out a practical extrication drill. In order to gently remove wooden blocks from a stacked tower without causing it to fall, firefighters employed hydraulic spreaders.

The exercise evaluated teamwork, communication, consistent pressure, and precise management of hydraulic instruments. Members had the chance to hone their patience and accuracy in a safe environment while learning more about the rescue tools used in vehicle extrications during the drill.

There were no departments indicated as engaged in mutual aid or assistance. 126 State Route 15, Lafayette, N.J. 07848 was the department's address. Firefighters were able to maintain the skills necessary to use rescue equipment safely and effectively during emergency situations thanks to regular practical training.
