Controlled Burn Training Enhances Fireground Skills

Firefighters from multiple departments came together for hands-on fireground training during a controlled burn hosted by the Arcade Fire Department. Members of the Farmersville Fire Department joined Arcade firefighters for the exercise in Arcade, New York, providing crews an opportunity to practice essential fireground skills in a controlled and supervised environment. The training allowed firefighters to observe fire behavior and refine suppression techniques while working alongside personnel from neighboring departments. Joint training exercises such as the controlled burn provide departments that may work together during mutual-aid incidents an opportunity to maintain operational readiness and prepare their members for real-world fireground conditions.
