Olean, NY - The Olean Fire Department Recruit Firefighter Training (RFFT) Class 2026-1 completed an intensive rope rescue training program in coordination with the OFD Technical Rescue Team.

Recruits began with foundational instruction in rope systems and confined space rescue techniques before advancing to practical rescue evolutions conducted at multiple sites across the city. The training also included the deployment of new confined space supplied air systems and Terradapter equipment.

The program was supported through collaboration with the City of Olean sewer treatment team, which provided training locations, along with assistance from Rock-N-Rescue and Steel City Safety Access and Rescue.

The exercise strengthened technical rescue capabilities and reinforced multi-agency coordination in specialized rescue operations.
