Newport, N.H. — August 6 — Pumping, drafting, and apparatus operations were the main topics of the Newport Fire Department's nighttime training. Members worked on creating a draft, running pumps in various scenarios, and ensuring a consistent water supply for fireground operations. Firefighters were able to rehearse water supply techniques in a controlled environment at the draft site. As they worked through real-world evolutions, members strengthened pump operation, communication, and apparatus synchronization.
