Blandford Fire & Rescue Conducted Water Supply Training

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Blandford, MA. — August 5 — Blandford Fire & Rescue held training in tanker shuttle operations and drop tank drafting. Members practiced using portable drop tanks and tankers to create a water supply in places without hydrants. Workers drafted water, positioned the drop tank, and ensured a consistent supply for fireground operations. The goal of tanker shuttle drills was to coordinate the movement of equipment between the fireground and water supplies.

In situations when hydrants were unavailable, the training strengthened rural water supply techniques. As they prepared for water supply operations during district structure fires, regular practice helped members enhance cooperation, communication, and apparatus placement.
