King Ferry Fire Department Conducts Water Rescue Training

King Ferry, NY - The King Ferry Fire Department held water rescue training focused on improving safety and operational readiness.

Members reviewed water safety practices and heat emergency awareness before moving into hands-on evolutions.


Training included rope throw bag techniques and reaching drills using pike poles, with members simulating victim rescues in the water.


Chief Scott Shaw also utilized drone support for overhead situational awareness and demonstrated aerial delivery of an inflatable lifejacket during the exercise. The session strengthened core water rescue skills and team coordination.
