Berlin, N.H. — July 22 — The Project Youth Afterschool Program was held at the firehouse by members of IAFF Local 1088, the Professional Firefighters of Berlin. Rosman, a fire investigator with the New Hampshire State Fire Marshals Office, and Reeves, his K-9 partner, gave a presentation during the visit. Participants gained knowledge about the function of detecting dogs in emergency services and fire investigations.

Young people have the chance to interact with firemen and gain more knowledge about public safety operations through the program. Such visits provide a firsthand glimpse at specialized response operations and jobs in the fire service. Local youngsters were paired with state fire investigators and firefighters during the session.
