On August 11, 25 years after the attacks that killed 343 FDNY members, the Church of St. Francis of Assisi in Manhattan revealed its freshly renovated 9/11 Memorial.
In March 2002, the church erected the first memorial to September 11 in a house of worship. Professional artists' creations are combined in the renovated memorial to create a lasting space for honor, contemplation, and recollection.
