Genoa, N.Y. — July 29 — Engine 1 of the Genoa Volunteer Fire Department took part in the "Put It to the Test" event hosted by Colden Enterprises at the Cayuga County Training Tower. During hands-on training in a controlled environment, the event provided firemen with the chance to operate fire department equipment. During practical exercises, members assessed how well the equipment worked and practiced using it.

Firefighters from several agencies throughout the county have access to a training environment at the Cayuga County Training Tower. Genoa's involvement gave members another chance to improve their operational skills and familiarize themselves with the equipment. Additionally, the event brought local firemen together for equipment review and sharing training. Later, Engine 1 was put back into operation.
