Captain Edward Martin of Ladder 152 finished his last tour and started his retirement on July 18 after serving with the FDNY for more than 33 years.

On October 25, 1992, Martin enlisted in the FDNY and was assigned to Brooklyn's Ladder 110. In 2004, he received a promotion to lieutenant, and in 2021, he became a captain. He helped with rescue and recovery operations in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and he was awarded a bravery citation in 1996 for saving a woman from a multiple-dwelling fire.

The FDNY wished Martin a happy retirement and praised him for more than thirty years of service to New York City.
