Binghamton Firefighters Strengthen River Rescue Skills

Binghamton, NY - Binghamton Fire Department members conducted river rescue training at Confluence Park, focusing on the unique challenges of responding to emergencies on the Susquehanna and Chenango Rivers.


All six companies rotated through the training, practicing boat operations, victim retrieval, throw bag deployment, rescue equipment use, and coordinated operations in moving water.


The training reinforced the skills needed to safely operate in changing water conditions, strong currents, and other hazards, keeping crews prepared for water emergencies throughout the community.
