Airbag Rescue Training Enhances Heavy Rescue Capabilities

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Deposit, NY - The Deposit Fire Department conducted specialized airbag rescue training for firefighters and EMS providers, focusing on both high-pressure and low-pressure airbag systems. The training provided personnel with hands-on experience using two important rescue tools available within the community.

High-pressure airbags were reviewed for lifting and stabilizing heavy vehicles, machinery, and structural loads, while low-pressure airbags were practiced for applications requiring greater lifting height and distributed force.

The training strengthened members’ ability to safely deploy and operate these systems during complex vehicle extrications, structural emergencies, and other technical rescue incidents.
