The Brooklawn Fire Department announced on July 16 that longtime Brooklawn resident Jim DiAmore, an honorary member, had passed away.

For many years, DiAmore ran Lipkins Pharmacy on Broadway and was well-known for his support of neighborhood groups and events. The Brooklawn Fire Department claimed to be one of the groups that profited throughout the years from his kindness, support, and camaraderie.

The department sent its sympathies to DiAmore's family, friends, and wife, Karen. He was also praised by members for his years of service and commitment to the Boro of Brooklawn.
