Winchendon, Mass. — July 10 — After Deputy Chief Patrick James "PJ" Roy passed away, the Winchendon Fire Department sent its sympathies to the Ashby Fire Department, the Fitchburg Fire Department, and his friends, family, and coworkers.

Deputy Chief Roy devoted his professional life to community safety and fire service. His leadership, dedication, and service to the firemen and communities he worked with during his career were highlighted by department members.

The local fire service community is grieving his loss. Firefighters in Winchendon honored Roy's years of service and enduring contributions to the industry while expressing their support for the Fitchburg and Ashby departments as well as his loved ones.
