On the evening of July 14th, the North Scituate Fire Department put weeks of trauma and extrication training to the test in a series of realistic vehicle accident scenarios. Under the glow of work lights, EMS and fire personnel came together to face down mock emergencies that felt anything but fake.

Working side by side, crews assessed patients, stabilized the vehicles, and executed detailed extrication plans. From the first size-up to the moment the last “victim” was freed, every move was deliberate — a showcase of the skills members have been honing all summer.

These scenarios weren’t just about cutting metal. They were about communication, coordination, and the trust that builds when firefighters and EMS providers work shoulder to shoulder under pressure.

The North Scituate Fire Department is proud of the dedication and grit its volunteers show in preparing for the real thing. A special thanks goes to Hall’s Garage for their ongoing support — their generous donation of vehicles each summer gives crews the chance to train like they fight, and fight like they train.
