Guilderland, NY - Members of the Guilderland Fire Department joined Fort Hunter Fire Department for a hands-on demonstration of a specialized extinguishing system designed for lithium-ion battery fires.

Firefighters gained practical experience using the system on both a battery fire and a contents fire while learning about its capabilities and potential applications during emergency operations.

The training provided valuable experience in handling lithium-ion battery incidents, which can present unique challenges due to their widespread use in power tools, e-bikes, electric vehicles, and energy storage systems.
