Whitesville, NY - Whitesville Volunteer Fire Department conducted a live burn training exercise using a small barn that was intentionally burned to provide firefighters with realistic, hands-on experience in a controlled environment.

Firefighters practiced hose operations, pump operations, and apparatus positioning while strengthening teamwork, confidence, and overall fireground skills. The department thanked the Pensyl family for providing the property and supporting the training opportunity.

Several young community members also attended the exercise, gaining a firsthand look at the department’s apparatus and equipment while learning more about the fire service.
