Escambia, FL - Members of Escambia County Fire Rescue and fire departments from across the Panhandle participated in maritime firefighting response training at the Escambia County Public Safety Building.

The course, provided by the National Firefighters Training Foundation and led by Chief Ken Keller of Mobile Fire-Rescue Department, covered firefighting operations involving vessels at sea, vessels in port, and marina fires.

The training strengthened regional preparedness for maritime emergencies, an important capability for departments operating near waterways. Chief Keller also brought more than two decades of experience serving in Mobile, home to one of the nation’s largest ports.
