Downingtown, Pa. — July 1 — The East Brandywine Fire Company expanded its response capabilities throughout its major coverage area and neighboring mutual aid communities by putting its new 2025 Pierce Enforcer Engine 49-1 into frontline service. It has a 1,000-gallon water tank, a 1,500-gpm pump, and six fireman seats.

In order to balance fleet utilization and minimize wear, the engine—acquired through Glick Fire Equipment Company—will alternate monthly with Engine 49-2 as the first-due apparatus. Deputy Chief Vince D'Amico oversaw the project, with assistance from the Apparatus Committee and department personnel who got the engine ready for use.
