Keystone Propane Honors Justus Fire Chief With Donation

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On July 16, Chief Chris Uhrin received recognition from the Justus Volunteer Fire Company following a thank-you from Keystone Propane for his actions during a tractor-trailer fire earlier this year.

On March 16, Uhrin found a tractor-trailer fire on Interstate 81 involving a propane transport hauling roughly 9,500 gallons of liquid propane while returning from a maintenance trip. He and the driver arrived ahead of other rescuers, used a handline, and put out a fire affecting the rear axle of the trailer.

Keystone Propane supported the fire department's volunteer members by giving $3,000 and 20 bottles of bottled water as a token of gratitude.
