On July 29, members of the Avondale Fire Company, which is getting ready to combine with the West Grove Fire Company to establish Southern Chester County Fire Rescue, took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Penn Township Fitness Park.

To commemorate the inauguration of the community center and to promote health, wellness, and collaboration, firefighters participated in a fun fitness challenge with JB FIT. NBC10 Philadelphia also covered the occasion, emphasizing the new fitness park and its advantages for locals.
