Brooksville, FL - The Hernando County Fire Rescue conducted a live fire training evolution with recruit classes 26-1 and 26-2 at the Citrus County Fire Rescue training center.

During the training, recruits were evaluated on a wide range of critical firefighting skills, including advancing hose lines, victim rescue, operating in zero visibility, managing high-stress and high-heat environments, rescuing downed firefighters, and reading smoke to identify fire behavior. These realistic scenarios are designed to prepare firefighters for the challenges they will face on the fireground.

The training was supported by the HCFR Training Division and live fire instructors, ensuring safe and effective operations throughout. The evolution highlighted strong performance from all participants and reinforced the importance of hands-on, scenario-based training.
