Avondale, Pa. — July 4 — Residents were urged by Department Avondale Fire Company, located at 23 Firehouse Way, to safely celebrate Independence Day while spending time with loved ones. The agency warned the community to keep an eye on kids near sparklers and other sources of ignition, utilize grills in open spaces away from buildings, and attend professional fireworks shows whenever feasible.

Additionally, residents were urged to properly dispose of hot charcoal after usage and to keep a fire extinguisher or water source close by when cooking outside. The department expressed gratitude to volunteers, employees, and community members for promoting a safe holiday and assisting in lowering avoidable fires and emergency situations around the neighborhood.
