Salem — July 27 — Dale Dobson, a revered mentor whose efforts helped the fire department and the agricultural community, passed away, and Department Salem Fire & Rescue grieved his loss. Throughout his career, Dobson taught firefighters, first responders, and producers about agricultural risks, emergency response, and farm safety. His instruction and direction increased knowledge of responder safety and rural emergency operations.

Following his death, notes of remembrance were sent by fire departments and emergency services personnel throughout the region to acknowledge his enduring efforts. The department also sent its condolences to Dobson's friends, family, coworkers, and the numerous individuals whose lives and careers benefited from his service.
