In honor of the country's 250th anniversary, the Bristol Borough Fire Association observed Independence Day by urging locals to enjoy carefully.

During holiday celebrations, the organization encouraged the public to abide with local regulations and to consider the safety of family members, neighbors, and first responders. The department also discussed the history of the Bristol Consolidated Fire Company's 1976 Ward LaFrance, dubbed the "Spirit of '76," which was almost delivered in a patriotic Stars and Stripes paint scheme before finally arriving in typical fire engine red.

The neighborhood was wished a safe and joyous Fourth of July by department representatives.
