NEVILLE ISLAND, PA. — July 4 — While commemorating America's 250th birthday, the Neville Island VFD 205, 5300 Grand Ave., reminded locals to observe Independence Day in a safe manner. Throughout the holiday, the volunteer department stayed prepared to handle rescues, fires, and other crises. Residents were urged by fire officials to use only permitted pyrotechnics, keep grills and open flames away from combustible objects, and properly dispose of smoking products.

During the Fourth of July holiday weekend and all year long, the department also acknowledged the ongoing contribution of its volunteer firemen and mutual aid partners, whose dedication helped ensure dependable emergency response throughout Neville Island and adjacent areas.
