This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

NEVILLE ISLAND, PA. — June 30 — A new micro pumper was added to the emergency response fleet of the Neville Island VFD 205, located at 5300 Grand Ave. The quick attack vehicle, which had its own water supply and fire pump for speedy suppression attempts, was built on a Ford F-550 chassis and was intended to reach locations where heavier equipment could not easily operate.

It was anticipated that the unit would assist in responding to incidents in confined spaces, car fires, and brush fires. In order to guarantee that the equipment was ready for safe and efficient emergency operations throughout the Neville Island community, firemen planned to finish equipment installation, inspections, and practical training prior to going into service.
