MDFR Big Red

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue has operated with a lime-green fleet since 1973. The exception is a single pumper that is assigned to Engine Company 3, which is painted red as a tribute to the firefighters who were killed in the September 11th terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center. The names of every firefighter lost appear on the apparatus. The current apparatus operated by Engine 3 is a  2022 Sutphen Monarch.
