On June 30, Riverhead Fire Department personnel performed practical car fire training at the Northville Training Grounds.

During several simulated car fire scenarios, firefighters rehearsed hose line advancement, vehicle fire suppression, and coordinated operations. Through the training, workers were able to practice collaboration, communication, and fire attack tactics in a safe setting.

According to department officials, keeping the knowledge and preparedness required to react to car fires and other emergency situations in a safe and efficient manner requires continuous training.
