On July 4, the Center Moriches Fire Department joined the community in commemorating Independence Day and America's 250th anniversary while advising locals to prioritize their safety during the vacation season.

Residents were urged by department officials to check on vulnerable neighbors during the holiday, remain hydrated amid intense temperatures, and leave fireworks displays to qualified specialists. The public was also advised by firefighters to dial 9-1-1 in case of an emergency.

The agency wished everyone a happy and safe Fourth of July and praised first responders, veterans, and members of the armed forces for their service.
