Pascoag, R.I. — July 4 — The Pascoag Fire Department commemorated 139 years of service to the Pascoag community while commemorating America's 250th birthday. In addition to commemorating the nation's momentous anniversary, the department acknowledged its own lengthy history of offering emergency response and fire protection since 1887. As locals gathered for Independence Day celebrations throughout the region, firefighters stayed prepared to respond to emergency calls.

Generations of dedication to community service and public safety were reflected in the dual celebration. These kinds of milestones honor the commitment of both present and past members, whose work helped establish and maintain the department while carrying out its daily job of protecting people and property.
