Explorer Brendan Blomquist received recognition from the Avon Volunteer Fire Department after completing the Introduction to the Fire Service (ITTFS) Cadet Program at the Connecticut Fire Academy.
Blomquist completed a week of classroom education and practical training before graduating as a member of ITTFS Cadet Class 57. SCBA operations, search and rescue, ladder work, wildfire tactics, physical fitness, collaboration, and leadership development were all included in the training.
