Newport Firefighters Complete Annual EVOC Training

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On July 15, members of Newport Fire Company No. 4 finished their yearly Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) training.

Firefighters used a variety of departmental equipment to practice and evaluate emergency vehicle operating techniques. To promote safe vehicle operations and productive teamwork, each exercise was carried out with a driver, passenger, and spotter.

The department expressed gratitude to Peter Burritt for planning and directing the training, which ensures firemen are equipped to drive emergency vehicles safely during responses.
