Franklin, N.Y. — July 10 — Firefighter Carter Hilton received recognition from Franklin Fire & Rescue for passing the New York State Interior Firefighter Operations (IFO) training. Hilton completed six full days of instruction in an expedited 50-hour training program in Orange County after graduating from school and doing a technical rescue course. Basic Firefighter Operations (BFO) and the IFO course combined to provide more than 100 hours of state-approved interior structure firefighting training.

The achievement, according to department authorities, demonstrated Hilton's dedication to operational preparedness and professional growth. The training improved the department's capacity to respond to emergencies in the Franklin neighborhood in a safe and efficient manner.
