After the Secaucus Fire Little League Rookie League Team won the Rookie League Championship on June 24, the Secaucus Fire Department rejoiced.

Before upsetting the No. 2 seed in the first round and sweeping the top-seeded Dunkin team in the best-of-three final series, the squad was the lowest seed going into the playoffs. Extra innings decided the game that would win the championship.

Additionally, the department commended the players, coaches, and families on an exceptional season and acknowledged Engine Co. 1 Firefighter Joshua Gerena, who served as coach.
