Busy Fourth of July Keeps Forked River Firefighters Responding

Throughout the Independence Day vacation, the Forked River Fire Department continued to operate, juggling emergency response activities with neighborhood gatherings.
The department's color guard participated in the VFW's America 250 Flag Dedication event alongside the Lacey Township Police color guard. In addition, firefighters covered the township's yearly fireworks show and took part in Pine Beach and Ocean Gate Fourth of July parades.
The department's ongoing dedication to community safety was demonstrated during the course of the holiday weekend when crews responded to over 25 service requests pertaining to strong storms.
