On June 25, Boston Volunteer Fire Department members took part in a multi-agency mass casualty incident training simulation.

To replicate a multi-vehicle collision, firefighters collaborated with the Boston Emergency Squad, Morton Corners Fire Company, New York State Police, Erie County Sheriff's Office, Scranton Fire Company, and Mercy Flight. Crews rehearsed patient evacuation, car extrication, and organizing patient transfers to a Mercy Flight chopper.

According to department officials, the collaborative drill improved emergency responders' cooperation, teamwork, and communication, preparing personnel for major events.
