On July 12th, the Jersey City Fire Department held one of a total of four drills involving a high rise building under construction on Hudson Street. Members of the FDNY, North Hudson Regional FD and Hoboken FD were in attendance. Jersey City Chief of Department Jack Johnson, center, discussed operations with FDNY officers, that included chiefs from the 3rd Division and 9th Battalion of midtown Manhattan. Water rose to 50-plus stories during the drill. According to local officials, Jersey City is ranked eighth with the most high-rise buildings in the United States.
