Randy Mantooth, who inspired generations of first responders with his depiction of paramedic Johnny Gage on the television series Emergency!, passed away. The Guilderland Fire Department joined the fire and EMS community in grieving his loss.

Two years ago, department officials thought back to Mantooth's visit to their annual installation dinner, where he met with members and gave the opening comments. They claimed that everyone in attendance was deeply impacted by his gratitude for the fire department.

The department acknowledged Mantooth's lasting impact on firemen, EMTs, and paramedics nationwide and sent its sympathies to his family, friends, and the Emergency! community.
