The Colchester Fire Department offered fire protection for the July 5 community fireworks show and took part in the town's yearly parade.

Before staffing equipment throughout the evening to guarantee fire coverage for the fireworks extravaganza, firefighters joined locals and guests for the holiday celebration. The department stayed on duty to ensure that the celebrations ended safely.

Department representatives acknowledged the planning and cooperation that made the community event possible and praised the Colchester Parks & Recreation Department for arranging the parade and fireworks celebration.
