Chicopee, MA. — June 18 — In order to educate kids about community volunteers and the role firefighters play in public safety, members of the Chicopee Fire Department visited Bowie School. During the teaching event, firefighters delivered fundamental fire safety knowledge, introduced equipment, and talked about emergency response. After the presentation, students got the chance to engage with firemen and take part in activities.

The department's public education initiatives continue to heavily rely on community outreach, which helps kids learn about emergency services in a constructive environment. In addition to providing fire, rescue, and emergency medical services, the Chicopee Fire Department, located at 274 Front Street, continues to provide fire prevention education.
