Matthew Cross Was Sworn In as Chicopee Fire Chief

Chicopee, MA. — June 16 — At a ceremony attended by firemen, city officials, and community members, Matthew Cross was formally sworn in as the Chicopee Fire Department's fire chief. Cross, who has lived in Chicopee his entire life, joined the department in 1996 and rose through the ranks to become chief.


He reaffirmed the department's dedication to the community while outlining a vision focused on firefighter training, operational readiness, and ongoing public service during the ceremony. Chief Cross, who has over thirty years of fire service experience, took over as head of the Chicopee Fire Department, which was located at 274 Front Street and continued to provide fire, rescue, and emergency medical services.
