As the school year came to an end on June 25, the Fire Prevention Education Unit of the Boston Fire Department took stock of its school outreach initiatives.
To teach students about emergency preparedness and fire prevention, firefighters visited classrooms, gave tours of fire stations, and performed practical fire safety demonstrations throughout the academic year. According to the department, one of its most crucial public safety goals is still teaching youth.
