In order to handle the extra demand on one of the busiest days of the year in the town, the Bar Harbor Fire Department put almost all of its employees on duty on Independence Day.

In order to guarantee a prompt response to crises throughout the holiday, the department assigned dedicated staffing to each apparatus, with all available workers reporting for duty.
