Alna, ME — August 1 — Following a car accident on August 1 at the crossroads of Route 27 and Fowle Hill Road, the Wiscasset Fire Department received mutual aid from the Alna Volunteer Fire Department. Along with Trucks 1 and 2, four Alna firefighters arrived to help manage traffic and secure the area. Crews collaborated with Wiscasset firefighters to keep the area surrounding the collision safe and assist in controlling traffic flowing thru the intersection.

While the Wiscasset department dealt with the situation, the reaction supplied more staff and equipment. The mutual-aid assignment demonstrated the need of nearby departments cooperating to support emergency operations and scene safety.
